Farheen Khan is a highly respected and experienced non-profit leader with more than twenty years of work in the anti-violence and anti-poverty sectors, both locally and across Canada.
Since 2007, as Principal Consultant, Farheen has focused on strengthening organizational capacity through strategic planning, resource development, operational improvement, systems design, board governance, and brand management. Throughout her career, she has helped raise nearly $100 million for organizations in Canada and abroad, while championing equitable access to funding and recognition for groups led by and serving marginalized communities.
Farheen is widely acknowledged as a strong advocate and ally for marginalized communities. Her work emphasizes advancing sector-wide change at local, regional, and national levels by supporting organizations created by and for People of Color and women.
As an educator and trainer, Farheen continues to provide guidance and capacity-building in Anti-Violence, Anti-Racism, Anti-Islamophobia, and broader EDI practices. Recently, she served as the Anti-Racism Advisor to Imagine Canada’s HR Intervals project and was the lead consultant developing an EDI initiative for Fora Network for Change, supporting their efforts to increase the inclusion of young women and gender-diverse individuals on boards across Canada. Farheen is a leading voice in creating innovative approaches to address the evolving needs of Canada’s diverse communities in the areas of family violence, religious abuse, honour-based violence, and gender-based violence.
She continues to play a vital role in supporting women fleeing severe domestic, intimate partner, religious, and honour-based violence across the country.
